School year weekend events include programs that serve individual girls, troops, families and friends, with a variety of activities for everyone. To register for a weekend program event, register online or complete the Event Registration Form and Health Permission Form (only required for overnight programs). International Adventure Day

Do Dads
May 4th – 5th 2018

For: All Grades
Fee: $30 per person

This program is designed for girls and their significant male adults – dads, uncles, grandpas, etc. You and the rest of the group will spend the weekend at Camp Pisgah on camp construction projects and sprucing up camp itself. You will enjoy great meals, a father/daughter craft, archery and even fishing! The Camp Ranger will lead your group in the camp project (roofing, painting, construction) and will provide the materials, training and direction as we all work together to improve camp property. So campers bring your favorite adult “guy” out to camp and show them how much fun Camp Pisgah can be! By the end of the weekend, you will leave knowing you’ve left your mark on camp. Lunch, dinner and dessert provided on Saturday and continental breakfast on Sunday. Register Here

Adulting 101
January 13th-14th 2018

For: 6th-12th Graders 
Fee: $60 

We’ve all had that moment, you know the one. The one where you think “oh, no. I have no idea how to do that. They didn’t teach this in school!” In this conference style weekend girls will get an opportunity to choose sessions that most interest them in the hopes of avoiding those “Oh, no” moments later in life. Sessions will range from basic vehicle maintenance (everyone should know how to change a tire!) and cooking, to balancing a checkbook, writing a resume and cover letter, and more. Perfect for Girl Scouts on the verge of becoming independent young women! Meals and supplies for sessions provided. This is drop off event. Register Here

 

Shipwreck Dinner 

January 19th 2018

Fee: $10 per person

Join the Camp Ginger Cascades team for a shipwrecked dinner! You’ll dine with pirates, learn about famous female sea captains, sing sea shanties, and have an all around great time. We look forward to seeing you on the high seas, arrrg! Location TBD. Register Here

 

International Adventure Day, Celebrations Around the World
February 10th 2018

For: 2nd-8th Graders
Fee: $15 per girl and $5 per Adult Chaperone

What do Mardi Gras, Diwali and the Chinese New Year all have in common? They are all being celebrated at Camp Ginger Cascades! Join us as we attempt a world of festivities in one day. You’ll get a chance to learn about the culture and history of these celebrations, as well as a few more. Fractured Fairy Tales Weekend
February 24th – 25th 2018

For: 3rd-5th Graders
Fee: $50

Do you have a closet full of princess and superhero costumes? Put those costumes to good use and wear them to adventure in the land of fairy tales! The land of Ever After (Camp Ginger Cascades) is in trouble and we need your help! Canoe out onto the lake to help a distraught mermaid, work with the fairies to rid their garden of invading pests, and make new friends with many fairy tale characters and creatures along the way. Girls attending this event will get a chance to experience some live action role play as well as all the fun that camp has to offer. This is a drop off event and meals are provided. Register Here

ASU Weekend “Into the Jungle” 
April 14th – 15th 2018

For: 4th and 5th Graders
Fee: $50 per Girl and $25 per Adult Participant 

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! You never know what you’ll see when you join a group of Appalachian State University Students as they bring you and the rest of Camp Ginger Cascades into the jungle! Mom and I
May 5th -6th 2018

For: All Ages
Fee: $55 per person 

Join us for a weekend at Camp Ginger Cascades and get away from all the hussle and bussle of everyday life. Take a weekend to connect with your camper and experience camp together. Both you and your camper will delight in all our fun-filled camp activities and have all the enjoyment of camping without all the work! You and your camper will both participate in camp activities together like arts & crafts, cooking over a campfire, making s’mores, boating and more! Register Here

Girl Power Inc. 
January 13th – 14th 2018

For: 6th-12th Graders
Fee: $50

You’ve got the power to make a difference in the world, so let’s get to it! Spend the weekend at camp working on your leadership skills during Program Aide training, learning teambuilding techniques through Equine Facilitated Learning at the barn and participate in a song and game workshop to practice your teaching skills. Girls will also get a taste of programming opportunities through the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. Meals will be provided for this program. Register Here

 

International Adventure Day

February 10th 

For: K-5th Graders
Fee: $20 per Girl and $5 per Adult Chaperone

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a Girl Scout in another country? Head to Keyauwee for our second annual International Adventure Day to celebrate World Thinking Day! You will explore our World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts World Centers in Switzerland, India, Mexico, England and Africa. Try traditional dancing, make tasty treats, make crafts and connect with international Scouts to learn about new cultures and the world around you. New this year, girls will have a chance to experience culture through the horses from Circle C Equestrian Center with unmounted activities! All troops must have the correct number of adults to adhere to Safety Activity Checkpoints. Individually registered girls must be accompanied by an adult. Fee includes snack, please pack a lunch. International Adventure Day – Program Aide

February 9th – 10th 20158

For: 6th – 12th Graders
Fee: $30

Head on down to Keyauwee to help us create an International Adventure. Program Aides will join us Friday night for training on the 5 World Association of Girl Guide and Girl Scout World Centers so we can facilitate a program for younger girls the following day. Girls will also get the opportunity to learn about how to volunteer at a World Center, travel internationally and start participating in worldwide scouting programs. This program is for girls only. Girls must have already participated in council approved Program Aide training. Lunch is provided. Register Here

 

Outdoor Winter Club Trip

For: 6th-12th Graders
February 16th – 18th 2018
Fee: $100 

A snow covered winter  trip is perfect for the Outdoor Club! Spend the weekend skiing down the slopes and sleeping over at Camp Ginger Cascades for the weekend. Transportation will be available from Colfax and Hickory. Trip includes lift tickets, rentals and a ski lesson if desired, along with meals. Register Here

 

Mom and I
March 3rd-4th, 10th-11th and 17th-18th 

For: All Ages
Fee: $55 per person

This is a special chance for some one-on-one mother-daughter bonding. Enjoy all your favorite activities and make some great crafts to remember your weekend. everyone is invited to join us at Circle C Equestrian Center for unmounted interactive barn activities throughout the day! Moms and daughters will recieve a t-shirt and girls will recieve a fun patch. Register Here

This is a special chance for some one-on-one father-daughter bonding, while also helping make our camp a better place. Dads and daughters will participate in service projects, but also try out some camp activities, campfires and a craft! Register Here

 

Outdoor Club Hiking Trip
April 20th -22nd 2018

For: 6th-12th Graders
Fee: $75

Are you ready to step up your Outdoor Skills to the next level? Then come spend the weekend on an overnight backpacking excursion! On this weekend hiking trip, we will learn all that a true backpacker needs to know. Camping under the stars, cooking meals on the trail and making memories that will last a lifetime! This is a girl-only program. Girls will not need previous backpacking experience to attend. Meals will be provided. Register Here

 

Scout Survival Skill Challenge
April 222nd 

For: 2nd-12th Graders
Fee: $15

Join Keyauwee Program Center for our first ever Scout Survival Skills Challenge. Teams of 6 (both Boy and Girl Scouts are welcome) will participate in outdoor skills challenges based on their age level. Teams should list their team-mate names under the “anything else we need to know” section of the registration forms. All funds will go towards Keyauwee Program Center!

• 2-3rd graders: Geocaching, knot tying, fishing
• 4-5th graders: Canoe race, shelter building, fire building.
• 6-12th graders: Orienteering, plant identification, fire building/outdoor cooking and basic first aid

Summer Camp Sneak Peek
May 5th – 6th 2018

For: 2nd – 5th graders

Calling all future campers! Keyauwee is inviting you to join us for a one night summer camp sneak peak to introduce you to Girl Scout Camp. You will spend the weekend getting to experience camp like its summer – meet your counselors, sleep in a cabin, eat your meals in the dining hall, participate in fun activities and even have a night time all camp campfire. Barn Rat University – Grooming 

January 20th 2018

For: 4th – 5th graders
Fee: $15

Can’t get enough of the barn and horses?! Join us for this BRU course on grooming horses. Participants will learn the hows and whys of horse grooming, get hands on experience and practice and earn the US Pony Club Horse Management badge, Grooming. The program cost is $15 per girl and is for Junior Girl Scouts. Participants will not be riding. Register Here

 

Quiver and Shiver
January 27th 2018, 10am-4pm

For: 6th – 12th Graders
Fee: $55

Mounted Archery fun day and competition for campers who have completed in either Horseback Archery I/II summer camp programs or attended a Circle C Horseback archery Clinic. Brush up on your skills, compete in a show and take home the first ever Circle C Horseback Archery T-shirt! You won’t want to miss this! Barn Rat University

February 24th 2018

For: 6th – 12th Graders
Fee: $15

Can’t get enough of the barn and horses?! Join us for this BRU course learning about anatomy and conformation in horses. Participants will learn the hows and whys of horse conformation, get hands on experience and practice and earn the US Pony Club Horse Management badge, Conformation. The program cost is $15 per girl and is for Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts. Participants will not be riding. Register Here
